“When she slipped on a new pair of bright pink shoes, her whole face lit up.” The counselor shared
Ruth arrived at The Closet by Mercy Mall at her school simply needing a pair of shoes. She had missed the previous school year because of significant family challenges and a lack of basic resources.
Having The Closet on-site allows natural conversations between students/families and resource coordinators, building relationships and trust. Through that encounter, the school was able to better understand her situation and help her move into a safe, stable home with her grandmother through a kinship program.
That one need met became a powerful moment of bridging something bigger — hope, trust, and honest conversation with her family.
This is the heart of Bridging Hope.
This is what your giving makes possible.
Your support doesn’t just fill shelves — it fills the gaps in children’s lives that lead to healing, safety, and hope.
